Wiebe Wakker is a Dutch adventurer and keynote speaker who completed the world’s longest journey in an electric car, driving from the Netherlands to Australia.

Wiebe Wakker is best known for his 95,000 km journey in an electric car from Amsterdam to Sydney, completed without money to promote sustainable initiatives and electric mobility. This journey became the longest journey in an electric vehicle.

Wiebe relied on the kindness of strangers who offered food, a place to stay, or a charge for his car. On his website plugmeinproject.com, people could select their location on a map and offer him energy. These offers determined his route, making him cross the planet in the most unconventional way.

Wiebe Wakker drove a converted all-electric Volkswagen Golf Variant, nicknamed the Blue Bandit. The car has a 37 kw/h battery and 200km range.
